Meet Dr Jogiya
Dr Roy Jogiya, MB BS, BSc (Hons), PgDip, MRCP, PhD
Dr Jogiya is a consultant cardiologist specialising in heart rhythm disorders, cardiovascular prevention and general cardiology. He is part of the cardiology teams at Kingston Hospital and Guy's and St Thomas', where he looks after a wide range of cardiac conditions. He holds private clinics in Kingston upon Thames and London and sees patients from across Richmond, Surrey and South West London, and he provides specialist second opinions for patients elsewhere in the UK, including by video where that is clinically appropriate.

His story
He grew up in Kingston. He has spent twenty years learning to look after hearts.
Dr Jogiya grew up in Kingston upon Thames and was educated at Tiffin School. He studied at Imperial College London, graduating with honours in 2005 with degrees in cardiovascular science (BSc) and medicine (MB BS), and the Diploma of Imperial College London.
He trained at cardiac centres across the UK, including the Royal Brompton Hospital in Chelsea, Imperial College NHS Trust, St George's Hospital NHS Trust, and Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Trust, and has spent time at Yale New Haven Hospital in the United States.
He took a postgraduate diploma in medical law and ethics at Keele University, then held a British Heart Foundation fellowship, which funded his PhD in cardiac MRI at King's College London.
Clinical expertise
What he treats, and what he is asked to look at.
Heart rhythm disorders are his main specialist interest, covering cardiac rhythm management, electrophysiology and complex pacing. He holds the British Heart Rhythm Society examination in electrophysiology and devices.
Heart health and prevention is the other half of the work. He looks after high cholesterol, high and low blood pressure, and people with a strong family history of premature cardiovascular disease. His national work at the Health Innovation Network is in cardiovascular prevention and lipid management.
The rest is general cardiology. Chest pain and suspected coronary disease, breathlessness and heart function, palpitations, dizziness, blackouts and ankle swelling, heart murmurs, the cardiac causes of stroke, and pre-operative cardiac assessment. He also carries out second opinions and specialist review, reading previous letters, investigations and rhythm recordings in the context of a patient's symptoms and history rather than on their own.

Leadership and innovation
Beyond the clinic, he helps set the direction.
He is the recipient of a National Clinical Impact Award in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the NHS. He was honoured as a Healthcare Pioneer at the Houses of Parliament for his work in cardiovascular disease prevention at the Health Innovation Network, where he serves as Clinical Director. Under his leadership he has helped shape national cardiovascular prevention strategies and secured substantial funding for lipid management and digital health initiatives.
Dr Jogiya has also led panel discussions at the HETT (Healthcare Excellence Through Technology) show in London and has given many talks and lectures. He is Chief Medical Advisor at Heart Research UK and sits on several national advisory panels, including NICE and the NHS Innovation Accelerator. His work integrates clinical excellence with healthcare innovation, driving digital transformation and improving long term condition management across the UK.
Dr Jogiya is an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at Imperial College London and has authored peer reviewed publications in cardiac MRI and coronary disease. He speaks at and chairs conferences in the UK and abroad.
