What a cookie is
A cookie is a small file a website saves in your browser so it can recognise your browser later. Similar technology, such as your browser's local storage, works the same way and is covered here too.
The one thing this website always stores
Your answer to the cookie question, saved in your browser's local storage under the name kc-consent, so we do not ask you again on every page. It holds only whether you accepted or rejected, and when. It is strictly necessary, it never leaves your browser, and it is cleared after about six months, when we ask again.
Cookies set only if you accept
If you accept, Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, sets these cookies so that it can count visits and tell one visitor from another without knowing who anyone is.
_ga, which tells visitors apart. It lasts up to two years._ga_followed by a code for our Analytics account, which keeps track of a visit. It lasts up to two years.
They are Google's cookies, set on this website's address. What Google Analytics records with them, and how long it is kept, is set out in the privacy policy.
What this website does not use
No advertising cookies, no remarketing, no social media cookies and no embedded content from other websites that sets its own. If that ever changes, this policy will be updated first and you will be asked again.
Changing your mind
You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings at the foot of every page, or with the button below. Choosing Reject deletes the Google Analytics cookies from your browser and stops anything further being collected.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser's settings. The site works in full without them.
